If your new to airsoft or you've never played at our site, you'll have questions!
Q - Do I need to have WWII kit to play at P.O.W? A- No - We encourage players to get WWII kit whenever possible, but any player is welcome at our site on our regular walk-on days. Our WWII Milsim games DO require WWII kit or an acceptable alternative (ie: all Black can play as Panzer Crew and all Olive Drab can play as American Tank Crew).
Q - I don't know any airsofters, will it be OK to come on my own? A - P.O.W. airsoft is one of the friendliess sites you'll ever play at. Some folk come more for the banter than the game! New players are welcomed by our regulars, marshals and site owners. Our marshals go out of their way to ensure you fit in quickly and are well looked after during your game day. Don't be shy about asking anyone a question or to have a gander at the other players' equipment. Most our players are happy to oblige!
Q - What kind of games do you play? A - Our games vary from 20-minute warm-up games to 1-hour games. We also do full-afternoon scenarios and full-day Milsims. Most of our games are based well planned scenarios and we rotate through a wide variety of games to ensure you don't get bored playing here!
Q - Am I too Old to Airsoft? A - We get this question a lot! Our players range in age from 18 to over 60. If you have a genuine interest in playing, you're never too old!
Q - I'm not 18 yet, but I've airsofted before - can I play? A - No!
Q - What do I need to bring? A - Boots with ankle protection are a must. The terrain is rough and boots are necessary for ankle support to reduce the risk of injury. You will also need to bring a packed lunch. We have juice/water and chocolate bars available to purchase on site. During fair weather, we have a BBQ on site for the players to use. Dress in dark clothing if you don't have camo. Dressing in layers is recommended as you can heat up/cool down quickly. Gloves during cooler months are recommended. Bug repellant is needed during the summer. We have available for loan (and with hire) Flectarn and DPM Jackets in sizes small and medium if you require one. Masks and goggles are also available for loan.
Q - Will I need more Ammo if I hire? A - If your hiring, you'll get a bottle of 3,000 rounds. Some hires don't use all of the bottle and others need more. It depends entirely on how you play. Bring an extra £8 with you just in case, and this will get you a bag of 5,500 rounds if you use your whole bottle.
Q - I want to buy my own gun - how do I become UKARA registered? A - In order to become registered on the UKARA database, you must be a member of an airsoft site by playing at least 3 games in not LESS than 2 months. Basically - we say 10 weeks of airsoft games, as this will take you over the 2 month period. You don't need to play all games, but need at least 3 during this period. Once you have played the required games, we can verify you as a skirmisher and complete the necessary paperwork to get you registered on the UKARA database. If your in a rush to buy a gun, you also have the option of purchasing a "two-tone" gun. You do not need to be UKARA registered to purchase a two-tone.
